South Dakota State Fair
The Challenge:
For several years the South Dakota State Fair had been the premier event in SD. State Fair officials developed a plan to cut back the State Fair to 5 days instead of the previous 7 days. Then the number of visitors started to turn south. With revenues at an all time low and the state government about to pull the plug, they turned their efforts toward finding a marketing agency that can bring it back around. They then found Robert Sharp and Associates and the rest is history.
The Solution:
We were determined to turn the South Dakota State Fair around and it started when we developed a catchy jingle that created excitement and informed visitors that the State Fair wasn’t going anywhere. We helped in the development of all collateral materials including logos, posters, rack cards, signage, TV production, radio production, and website development. We also showed our support and traveled to the State Fair to help work the media center and the newly developed VIP tent.
The Results:
With the Launch of “We’re Still the One” campaign in 2007 the South Dakota State Fair has been pleased with the outcome. With an increase in attendance, sales, and revenue we’re all seeing the State Fair turn around.
