Megan spent a summer working as a costumed character and dressed up as both Sister Bear and Brother Bear of the Berenstein Bears…which is perhaps why she will never outgrow teddy bears.
Megan grew up in Redwood Falls, Minn., and was well known for trying "a little bit of everything" as a youth. Some of her more successful endeavors included theatre, ice hockey, water skiing, and playing the saxophone.
After high school, Megan attended the University of Minnesota for two years, where she was first exposed to video work. However, with an unclear vision for her future and a rapidly mounting tuition bill, Megan took some time off from school to travel and soul search.
During this time she worked as a photo lab technician and traveling photographer, spending time in Colorado and a year in Dominican Republic. This time enabled her to develop her visual edge (and get a really great tan). Life in the Caribbean somehow convinced Megan that school was the key, so she returned to finish a degree at Black Hills State University.
She graduated in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in mass communications with a minor in business. She began her career at NewsCenter1 as a director and soon after started shooting and editing commercials for the station. She comes to RSA with an enthusiastic attitude and the desire to continue learning something new every day.
