"Who you are speaks so loudly, I can't hear what
you're saying."
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
More About Laura:
-
She could watch the movie "Groundhog Day" each day for the rest of her life.
-
She's still trying to learn to play the guitar (it's only been 5 years).
-
Last year, she joined the National Marrow Donor Registry.
Laura was born and raised in Huron, South Dakota. After high school, the allure of the Black Hills brought her to Spearfish where she studied art and Spanish in college.
Like many aimless young college students, the desire to roam across Europe with a backpack and a tattered copy of "Lonely Planet" pulled her to stray from school. Three years ago however, something more powerful drew her back to Black Hills State University to finish her Composite English degree -- a baby boy.
Life with a two-year-old is never dull. Fortunately, Laura's love of books perfectly complements her son's love to be read to each evening, so for a brief few moments, the house is harmonious.
Second to reading, Laura's next great passion is writing. Not content until she had mastered every form and style, her goal was finally confirmed when a professor quipped she could now write perfectly even in her sleep.
Fortuitously, she attended a college job fair where she was introduced to RSA. The first and only job she applied for, Laura was thrilled to join the company immediately after graduation.
