A local boy, Ben was born in Sioux Falls. He graduated from South Dakota State University in May 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism, advertising and marketing.
Though Ben resided in East River his entire life, he decided to venture west to Rapid City after graduation. The change hasn’t killed him yet. In fact, he’s found a haven in the Black Hills – enjoying the great outdoors by hiking and rafting down shallow rivers.
A self-proclaimed social media advocate, Ben created Foursquare South Dakota, a statewide social networking site that can be found on Twitter at “@4sqSODAK.” He’ll most likely take over mayorship of RSA before long.
When he’s not glued to his laptop, smartphone or other technological gadgets, you’ll often find Ben at the local disc golf course. He’s also an amateur photographer and videographer. If there is something going on, you can bet that Ben will document it and make a video of it.
